Chantuary: Open Chant Sessions West and East

Melos Choir hopes that you will join us in person for our Chantuary series on Saturday nights in January, open chant sessions, West & East.  Suggested free-will cost per session: $10
Join us as we explore traditional chants: Gregorian; Mozarabic;  Byzantine and more. 
Sing, as able; or simply enjoy listening.

January 6: Gregorian chant for Christmas: Puer nobis nascitur
January 13: Mozarabic chant: Lamentation/s of Jeremiah (excerpt) 
January 20: Byzantine chant, TBD
January 27: Persian or Sufi song; or Syriac chant, TBD. 
February 3:Romanian chants led by Alexandru Sonoc and Holly Gwynne-Timothy:  Lumina Lina (Phos Hilaron/ O gracious light) and "Agni Parthene = Pe tine te fericim.  As  time permits we will review previous chants: Persian Shab-e Mahtaab, Hildegard's O aeterne Deus and other chants to date: LIber usualis Puer nobis nascitur; Lamentations x2 - Toledal  and Mozarabic.
